Yes it does. Mak's healing is completely different. He use the combination of his and Zk's energy to sustain important wounds until he can heal them after battle. He uses the power of the pain and wounds to fuel red resonance. Think of it as a Reverse Kaioken. Instead of causing damage to your body by raising your energy dramatically, you raise your energy dramatically from damage caused to your body. Because of the boost in power from red resonance Mak can temporarily put himself back at his max until Red Resonance runs out.
*Updating Red Resonance*
Do you think Mak could outlast Zeph due to the fact that he can increase his power back to it's peak temporarily when both warriors are fatigued? It would take more to damage Zeph because of his healing but if he is locked in combat then it would be even slower healing. Mak can give "more" because of the damage to his body increasing his power and ki.

Well, it's not impossible, but that would mean he'd have to store all of his red resonance energy instead of using it in the fight. If he's ousting these attacks from his repertoire then he'd be at a disadvantage during combat. Also, how long is temporary? Because of his abilities, though Zephyr is most dangerous at his peak, it's finishing him that's really difficult. If the temp max doesn't work could Makanshi recover in time to stay in the fight? With Zeph, if you don't finish him, there's a good chance he'll at least maintain 20% of his energy after a short while not including his natural recovery.
