This is based off of a gaming profile for "Romance of the Three Kingdoms". A game based in the warring states era of China. I decided to make a story based off the characters I created in the game. I am not going to set it in China exactly, but it will be a land mostly like it. Here are the character bios for the most part:
Last Name/First Name
Age (at start)
Origin
Parent (Father/Mother)
Shu Shen
17
Ciao (China)
Shu Xing & Sing Qiao
Grew up as the child of a prefect in the small city of Wandu. He trained in martial arts for countless hours and studied many different military tactics. Shen was a born leader and was considered the ringleader of his immediate group of friends as a child. He also practiced calligraphy and was taught in many different styles of fighting. Shu Shen grew to be a man known well throughout Ciao as a hero who was worth ten thousand soldiers. His father died of illness and his mother had died in birthing his brother Shu Tian. Shen and Tian went to live with his their best friends Shun Rhao and Shun Hwan. He was mentored by the legendary Jin Azami. Jin is from Jishiru and is the ruler of the Azami Empire. His skills are legendary and he is rising in power as a ruler. He raises the three Shu brothers from the age of 10.
Shu Tian
15
Ciao
Shu Xing & Sing Qiao
Youngest brother of Shu Shen. He is considered very handsome and is somewhat on the quiet side as a child. He has a sort of extreme loyalty to Shen. Tian is a hero almost to his brother’s match but he is not as fiery as his brother so he is a bit calmer yet he is a little more of a follower than a leader. Tian supports everything his brother does because he truly agrees. If he has a disagreement with something he tends to never hesitate to tell someone. Shu Tian and Shun Hwan tend to enter battle on the same team quite a bit as they seem to be opposites. Tian is more frequently accompanying Shen however.
Shu Nara
14
Ciao
Shu Xing & Sing Yen
Shu Nara was born a year after the death of Sing Qiao who was the mother of Shen and Tian. The mother was Sing Yen who was the sister of Qiao who was Shu Xing's second wife. He died of an illness much like pneumonia shortly before his daughter's birth. Nara went to live with a relative who was Shu Tong. She was raised by him and was intended to marry a relative of Jin Azami named Timaru Azami. She was expelled from her house when she refused to marry Timaru. She dueled him in a sparring match and defeated him decisively on the condition that if she lost she'd marry him. She was soon taken in by Jin.
Shu Dekuran
17
Ciao
Shu Xing & Sing Qiao
Shu Shen's twin brother. Stayed with Jin for a while with Shen and Tian. He and Shen were somewhat close but Dekuran (oft. called Deku or sometimes ShuDek) became very distant when Xing died. He harbored no negative feelings for any of his brothers or Jin and the Shun brothers. He eventually developed his own goals and a lasting friendship with Rei Azami.
Azami Jin
37
Jishiru (Japan)
N/A
Immigrated from Jishiru to Ciao. Jin was a renowned warlord in Jishiru but left after the betrayal of his clan and the raid of his city. He escaped with his two young sons and the newborn Shun Hwan. His three sons were Shun Rhao, Shun Hwan, and Azami Rei (Rei Azami) who was his firstborn. His wife was killed in the raid and his other two sons and daughter. He left Jishiru to escape the dishonor he had received from his utter annihilation and vowed that he would restore his name and honor to his fallen clan. Rei is the only one with the last name of Azami because he was the heir to Jin's legacy. He wanted Shun Rhao to start his own legacy with the younger Hwan. Jin quickly rose to fame in Ciao and even adopted the promising Shu brothers and eventually their distant sister.
Azami Rei
19
Jishiru
Jin Azami & Michika Ji (Lady Michika)
Has few memories of home in Jishiru but distinctly remembers the raid of his home. He hides a burn scar on his back that he had to overcome during his training. He is a definite match for any warrior on the battlefield because of the extra training he had to do. His weapon of choice is the long sword. Rei has a bit of an ongoing rivalry with Shun Rhao. They spar many times and Rei bests Rhao in most of their bouts (not without difficulty) but the calm Shun Rhao is never deterred by this, which does nothing but infuriate the ambitious Rei. Rei has a small disdain for the Shu brothers but is a bit friendlier with Nara because she has such a violent personality and he thinks she is a good officer. Rei is extraordinarily ambitious and although he is not arrogant he does not accept losing or failure.
Shun Rhao
16
Jishiru
Jin Azami & Michika Ji
Son of the legendary Jin Azami and childhood friend of Shu Shen. Shun Rhao is calm and calculated. He is very slow to anger and does a good job of controlling the mental state of his adversaries. As incredible as his physical attributes are, he is an even greater strategist. Rhao and Rei have an ongoing rivalry in which Rei excels in physical prowess whereas Rhao is never phased by this minor detail. This results in Rei never feeling like he's won and Rhao accomplishing his goal. Rhao and his brother are almost exactly opposite to each other but they get along seamlessly. Rhao likes to use a short war spear whereas Hwan likes to use a Do (large Chinese style sword). Even with their preferred weapons each of them is unmatched with a bow. Many officers fear the Shun war cry of, "The sky cries bladed tears for the losses you are about to receive!!!" and then the sound of thousands of arrows soaring through the air.
Shun Hwan
15
Jishiru
Jin Azami & Michika Ji
Hwan is the younger brother of Shun Rhao and he is very much unlike him. Hwan is loud, arrogant, and extremely competitive. He is ,however; much smarter than he lets on and is undeniably loyal to his brother. Hwan doesn't have the same rivalry against Rei that Rhao does, but he is very aggressive against him for the tension between his two brothers. Hwan follows his brother "to the ends of the earth" as they say.
I'll put more up later.
